Interests of The Muslim Ummah "Overlooked"
Washington's price fixing of oil is incontrovertible proof of America's
dominance over the oil market and her control over production and pricing
policies in accordance with her national and economic interests. The
surrender of the ruling authorities in the region to Washington's decisions relating to the increase in production shows their weakness in administering the resources of the Muslim Ummah in accordance with the vital interests. It also shows the subjection to the will of the Kuffar whilst discarding the Ummah's interests.
Thus, America instructed to
lower their production when oil prices collapsed in 1988 to protect her own oil companies. The OPEC states followed them in this. And it is America
which has instructed to increase production when the price of oil
went above 30 dollars a barrel to protect her own economic interests. The
American Energy secretary during his visit to the region in February said
that 30 dollars a barrel is too much and 10 dollars per barrel is too
little. Thus, the ruling authorities of the oil producing states are repeating this statement playing the role of politicians, however, they are not true politicians who have their own complete will. Consequently, the steps taken in bringing together the OPEC states to increase production in order to reach the price set by America, is in reality an implementation of America's will and not the will of the regional rulers and their people. The American Energy Secretary made a statement to the CBS that he has led a successful diplomatic campaign with OPEC members, explaining that prior to 30 days ago they had refused to increase production, but now they have announced their agreement.
The ruling authorities should know full well that current oil prices do not reflect its true
value. Thus, French mineral water for example, is sold for ten times as much as the price of oil in American markets. Also, 20 dollars for oil today in terms of its purchasing power, is equivalent to 4 dollars at the beginning of the 1970's due to global economic inflation. Oil sales at the price set by America will not provide the necessary budget for the oil producing states in the region, including Kuwait. That is why they are resorting to increasing the price of goods, removing subsidies and placing systems for the imposition of greater duties and taxes.
Thus, the Muslim lives agitated and worried about
his provision and funds, fearing for the future of his children. On the
other hand, the submission of the ruling authorities to the will of America and their surrender before her orders and their acceptance of the price set for them, serve the interest of American oil companies, it reduces energy costs for American factories, helps American citizens to get cheap fuel, and protect the continuation of American economic growth. As well, it will preserve a low level of inflation in America. One such paradox is how the revenue of industrialised states (America, Europe and Japan) from just the taxes imposed on oil in 1996 was 270 billion dollars whilst the revenue of OPEC states, from the sale of oil, in the same year was only 185 billion dollars. So what right does anyone has to impose a life of poverty on the Muslims by selling oil at a price tenfold less than mineral water, so that the Kuffar can gain taxes from oil sufficient to dispatch their fleets to occupy the oil fields!
O Muslims:
It was the English who founded OPEC with the aim of controlling the region's oil and to distance American oil companies from it. After the change in international conditions, and the decline of British influence and expansion of the area of American influence inside and outside the organisation, the organisation became one of the tools of America in controlling the oil resources of the region. Therefore, in order to free ourselves from the American domination over oil we must do two things:
First, withdraw from OPEC and secondly, we must sell oil for gold instead of the dollar. AbuDawud and An-Nasai narrated from Tawus who narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that he said: That the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
" The weight is the weight of the people of Makkah and the measure (mikyaal) is the measure of the people of Madinah "
