US Double Standards

You will agree that the mighty usually have no conscience. Their vested interests and their global strategies dictate friendship and enmity. It may be frustrating for a developing nation, an ally though, to see a super power looking skeptically on the question of defiance of UN resolutions, right of self-determination and the democratic norms. Duality of standards is unashamedly practiced to the advantage of the favored nations and coercive logic is used to the detriment of nations not favored.
US
democratic standards have double yardsticks. For instance one for Timor
and the other for Bosnia, Kosovo, Grorzeny and Kashmir. As if the
human blood that is shed profusely in Kashmir, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Grorzeny
is different and cheaper than that of Timor. Their changing global strategies
and the vested interests bring about a one eighty-degree about turn in
their sense of morality, international relationships, their commitments
and adherence to interstate/international guarantees. Pakistan once declared
the Cornerstone of US policy in Southeast Asia was treated with total indifference
in the face of Indian aggression despite all the Defense Pacts.
USA
the Global Champion of Democracy and Human Rights and a self styled de
facto Global Policemen have, without any qualms of conscience - possessed
by their self interest - consistently refused to discern between Right
and Wrong. Their conscience does not even perturb them even over the prospects
of losing face in the world. Material possessions, short-lived though,
have gone to their head and they are not prepared even to consider the
fate of hundreds of developed civilizations that have been annihilated
by God before them.
Their
changing global strategies, vested interests and defaulting on international
commitments on interstate / international guarantees have faded their image
as a nation and diluted their credibility. The US, have scant
respect in the minds of now discerning millions around the globe whose
motherlands suffered through their prejudice and narrow-mindedness.
What
is the justification, for US, of according India, which has already disturbed
the balance of power in South East Asia, the Status of Nuclear Power viz.
a viz. Pakistan that needs most a nuclear deterrent for its security. Pakistan
faces the mighty Indian War Machine coupled with their expansionist and
anti Muslim designs. What is after all the criteria? It is a demonstration
of deliberate injustice and could not -care- less arm twisting foolhardiness
of USA. Such an attitude is devoid of any sense of morality and is a sacrilege
of philosophy of democracy and much trumpeted Human Rights. It fully debunks
the hollowness of US claims of urbanity and, humanitarianism.
The
world has not forgotten yet the civilian toll in Viet Nam through carpet-bombing.
The annihilation from Air, of retreating Iraqi Armies in Kuwait War after
the hostilities ceased is another example of US commitment to humanitarianism.
What is US moral strength in their insistence on Pakistan signing the CTBT
when it has not set an example by itself? How can US morally ask the rest
of the world to refrain from producing nuclear weapons when its own stockpile
of such weapons continues to threaten the very survival of humanity. Its
justification to possess a deterrent against Russia amply justifies Pakistan's
Stand to create a deterrent against the wicked designs of India. The so
called Super power of the world, has so far miserably failed to make an
effective move to protect the insignificant number of Muslims fighting
to protect their freedom and their faith. Every body seems to watch the
horrible act of extinction of a few men of conviction who firmly believe
in the Religious freedom. I firmly believe and let them know it that sun
of power and prosperity is going to set in the West Insha Allah.
