Muslims and Khilafah

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Khilafah (The Islamic State and Political System) was abolished in Istanbul. British Colonialists and their agents in the Muslim world, were able to bring about devastating consequences to the Muslim Ummah. The abolishment of the Khilafah continues to ravel both the Muslim Ummah and the world throughout this century. The Muslim Ummah has been divided and torn apart into tiny little "states" with weak economies that are dependent on the west, as well as on the the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the World Bank. The Muslim Ummah has become a deprived nation facing militant regimes, dictatorship, and backward technological infrastructure.

During the 20th century, the Muslims and their lands have been the target of continuous aggression enacted by the "kuffar". Kuffar such as the Jews, French, British, Hindus, Italians, Americans, Serbs, Russians, Chinese and others are all guilty of this aggression enacted upon millions of Muslims. Besides living under an unstable economy and turning to refugee camps for food and shelter, many Muslims are also wounded and killed. To examplify the horrific status of the Ummah today, just take a glance at Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Libya, Kosova, Bosnia, Aritria, and others. These issues continue to be complicated by the world order which is governed by kafir states such as USA, Britain, France, and Russia. The resources of the Muslims, especially the oil, continue to be controlled by the enemies of Islam and are used to strengthen the war machine of the west which, in turn, is used to tighten the grip over the Muslim world.

During the 20th century, the world has witnessed two major world wars which have taken more than 60 million human lives. Economic disparity, widespread poverty, social diseases, terrorism, human disintegration, and moral deprivation have dominated the world arena at large throughout the 20th century. Nuclear wars and economic catastrophies pose a continuous threat to all humanity. The severe atrocities inflicted upon both the Muslims and the rest of the world are the natural consequences of the absence of the Islamic state from the world arena. The implementation of the Islamic system at the level of the state, economy, social life, and society as a whole is the only way to guarantee the deliverance of mercy to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Allah (SWT) says:

"And We sent you (O Muhammad s.a.w) not,
but as mercy for the Nations"
[Al-Anbiya:107]

O’ Muslims: Allah has designated us as witnesses over mankind. Allah (SWT) says:

"And thus we have made you a just Ummah, so that you will be witness over mankind and the Messenger will be witness over yourselves" [2:143]

This great role can only be practiced by an Ummah with power, independent political will, political authority, and the islamic ideology prescribed by Allah (swt) as carried by the Messenger of Allah.

O’ Muslims: It is our duty and responsibility to revive the Islamic way of life that we have been deprived of living. It is our duty to re-establish the system of Khilafah which we lost at the beginning of this century. It is the duty and responsibility of every Muslim to pledge the allegiance of obedience (give bay’a) to the khalifah. The Messenger of Allah said:

" Whoso takes off his hand from allegiance (Baya) to Allah will meet Him on the resurrection day without having any proof for him, whoso dies while there was no allegiance on his neck dies a death of the days of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) " [Muslim]

O’ Muslims: The problems that we are facing today and addressing at various conferences, conventions, meetings, organizations, movements, and other platforms have not shown any sign of relief or any indication of a permanent solution. The problems of the Muslims and the world at large continue to increase. We, as an Ummah, must reconstruct what has been destroyed. That is, we must reestablish the Khilafah which was abolished in 1924.

O’ Muslims: The re-establishment of the Khilafah is not just the fantasy of a few good Muslims and it is not just a matter of wishful thinking. It is a matter of Islamic duty and human necessity. It is not just a Dua'a that we make; it is a struggle that we undertake. The Khilafah is not just a political system for one Muslim country. It is the political system for the whole world.

O’ Muslims: The Khilafah is what Rasool Allah (Peace be upon him) left for the Muslims after his death. The Messenger of Allah (sws) said:

" The children of Israel were sent Prophets. Every time a Prophet died or was killed, another Prophet would succeed him. However, there will be no Prophet after me and there will be Khulafa and they will be many." So the Sahabah asked: what should we do? He said: " Fulfill the Ba’ayah to the first and then the one who succeeds him and give them there rights for Allah will hold them acountable for their responsibilities " [Muslim]

The Khilafah is what Abu Bakr implemented, followed by Omar, Othman, and Ali. The Khilafah is what the Ummah continued to live under until it was lost at the dawn of this century. O’ Muslims: Can we illuminate the 21st century by bringing back the Khilafah? Can we resume the trust that the Prophet (PBUH) placed upon us? Can we be part of the process of establishing the Khilafah that Allah and his Messenger have promised? Allah (swt) says:

" Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He (swt) will, of surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they lived, to one of security and peace. They will worship Me (alone) and not associate gods with Me. If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked. " [Al-Noor:55]

O’ Muslims: Can we fulfill the duty that Allah (SWT) has ordained upon our shoulders; that is the implementation of Islam? Can we rebuild the dignity and honor of the Muslims by bringing Islam back to life? Can we ressume our role as witnesses over mankind by providing a just Ummah that can be a model for all mankind? Can we pledge to protect what is even more sacred than the Kaa’ba?

Abdullah bin Umar said that he saw Rasoul Allah (sws) doing the tawaaf (circumbulation) of the Ka’aaba and he (sws) said

" How good you (Ka’aaba) are and how good you (Ka’aaba) smell and your (Ka’aaba) sacredness is great and by whose hand Mohammad’s (s.a.w) soul is in, a believer’s blood and wealth has more sacredness with Allah (swt) than you (Ka’aaba) and do not suspect a believer but the khair (good)." [Sunan Ibn-Maajah]

O’ Muslims: Can we pledge to stop the rape of Muslim women? Can we pledge to prevent the death of Muslim children from hunger? Can we pledge to deliver mercy to all mankind? Do we not want to go to Jannah?! Do we not want to avoid Jahannam?! We have to make sure that our death is not a death of jahilliyah. We have to exert our best effort to re-establish the system of Khilafah, the system that generates life, the system that provides solutions for all problems.

Allah (swt) says: " O You who believe, answer the call of Allah and His messenger when He calls you to that which gives you life." [Al-Anfal:24]
