Muslims Fighting Against Muslims
by Abdul Karim Selected from the authentic book " The Sahih Muslim ", following are some Ahaadith which throw light upon the issue of Muslims fighting against Muslims.
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Masud that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Abusing a Muslim is an outrage and fighting against him is unbelief.
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b.Umar that the Apostle (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage: Woe unto you, distress unto you! Don't turn back as unbelievers after me by striking the necks of one another.
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b.Umar who narrates from the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him) who said: He who took up arms against us is not of us.
Iyas b.Salama narrated from his father that the Apostle (may peace be upon him) observed: He who draws the sword against us is not of us.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Musa Ashari: He who took up arms against us is not of us.
Dear brothers! Do we have any respect for these ahaadith of our Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him). A glance at our countries, cities, towns, villages, colleges, political or religious institutions and masajid clearly show that we are not following the path of our Prophet.
Who are we? Are we not Muslims! Why is a Muslim scared of a Muslim? Islam is the second name for Peace. If there is no peace then which Islam do we talk about. The following hadith will clearly describe the type of Muslim that was wanted by the Prophet.
Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As, may Allah be pleased with him said: A person asked Allah's Messenger (may peace and blessings be upon him) Who amongst the Muslims was better? Upon this (the Holy Prophet) remarked: One from whose hand and tongue Muslims are safe. [Sahih Muslim]
Dear brothers! We all know what Islam is and at the same time know what we are doing. We don’t do what Islam wants us to do and what we do is unacceptable to Islam. Now this war is between Muslims and Islam. This is the reason that the non believers and non muslims are in peace and are happy about the war going on between Muslims and Islam. The truth is that this war is not going to finish if the Muslims keep on chanting "Islam Islam" and their actions are against Islam. It is very clear that the Muslims cannot fight the kufar unless they stop their personal war with Islam and their brothers.
Dear brothers! Have a glance once again on the above mentioned ahadith and pray to Allah that we Muslims start obeying the orders of Allah and His Prophet. It is only when we stop backbiting and fighting against each other; that we can spread Islam in this world and would be ready to fight against the enemies of Allah.
