Answering Christianity
Source: snsmith@welchlink.welch.jhu.edu As you surf the internet you will quickly realize that there are several Christian web sites which are targeted towards Muslims. For the most part they are very aggressive and thier sole purpose is to instill doubts in the Muslim's heart as to the truth of Islam and that only Christianity is the path to salvation. In fact there is one group that calls itself Agressive Christianity. This group has some especially hateful things to say about Islam. Also, many other Christian groups are openly practicing deception towards unwary muslims and we need to become aware..
Many other groups are attempting to lure Muslims into Inter-Faith Dialogues but again the real intention is to lure Muslims away from their faith or at least instill doubts in their minds. Just read the following description of a recently written anit-islamic book at you will get the full picture:
Islam is the world's second largest and fastest growing religion. Across America, mosques are shooting up in record numbers. To reach Muslims with the gospel, you must first shake their faith in their religion, Islam. This well-researched book provides a wealth of information on Islam, and shreds it's 3 main pillars, proving that:
- Allah is not the God of the Bible
- Muhammad (s.a.w) was not God's prophet
- The Koran doesn't contain the words of God
- Learn: Why Muhammad (s.a.w) tried to commit suicide (pg.72)

Of course, this is not true for all Christians. Many Christians of goodwill, while not agreeing with the Islamic position, at least respect Islam and Muslims. We are glad to know these people and hope to continue meaninful dialogue with them in the future.
The purpose we have here is to offer you some good links which you can utilize to counter Christian claims and in turn more effectively present Islam to the people of the book. One should also keep in mind that many of the Islamic works which can easily rebutt Christian distortions and misconceptions of Islam have not yet been place on the internet. These distortions are purposely being promoted, not for the sake of an honest search for truth, but to maliciouslly attack the character of the prophet and the beauty of Islam. Nonetheless, there is a lot of effort taking place on the internet to help clear up many Christian distortions andmisconceptions about Islam. This is something that we as Muslims need to work on. Before reading further, however, one should be aware that Christians have a long history of distorting and attacking Islam. For the most part they are using the same methods they have always used. We are reminded of the saying " And how many people critisize a correct saying and they only problem is their faulty comprehension "
